The new cast of the NHK Taiga drama "Toyotomi Brothers!" starring Taiga Nakano, which will be broadcast in 2026, was announced on the official NHK drama X (formerly Twitter) on February 4th, revealing that Anna Kurasawa will play Asahi, the younger sister of the Toyotomi brothers.
Kurazawa is 19 years old, born on March 18, 2005. She recently made a name for herself by playing Fujiwara Kenko in the 2024 taiga drama "Dear Radiance (Hikaru Kimi e)", which became a hot topic. "I was able to have the wonderful opportunity to play the role of Fujiwara Kenko in ' Dear Radiance (Hikaru Kimi e)', and I am filled with gratitude for having had the wonderful opportunity to play Asahi again this time," she said.
"Toyotomi Brothers!" is a success story of hope and dreams depicting the miracle of the Toyotomi brothers who accomplished the great feat of unifying the country with their strong bond, with Hidenaga, the younger brother of "the ruler of Japan," as the main character. The script is written by Hiroyuki Yatsu, who is known for "Naoki Hanzawa" and the TV drama series "Ochoyan."
Asahi, played by Kurazawa, has a cheerful personality and is always positive and smiling even in her poor farming life. Thanks to her older brothers' success, she and her husband were living a wealthy and happy life, but one day, she was suddenly divorced by Hideyoshi and married off to Tokugawa Ieyasu. She is "the cheerful and cheerful younger sister."
