The main cast of " No.1 Sentai Gozyuger " (TV Asahi, 9:30 a.m.), a 50th anniversary production of the Super Sentai series that will begin airing on February 16th, was revealed at a production press conference streamed on YouTube and other platforms on January 26th.
The cast will include Mio Fuyuno (21) as "Red" Gojuu Wolf/Hoeru Tono, Hideharu Suzuki (21) as "Blue" Gojuu Leon/Rikuo Byakuya, Masakazu Kanda (31) as "Yellow" Gojuu Tyranno/Ryugi Bakugami, Jin Matsumoto (19) as "Green" Gojuu Eagle/Kinjiro Takehara, and Maya Imamori (18) as "Black" Gojuu Unicorn/Sumino Ichikawa.
Red's Fuyuno is an actor affiliated with the talent agency Stardust Promotion. "Although this is a 50th anniversary production, we are making it with the awareness that it is not a turning point or the end of an era, but rather the beginning of a new one. The production inherits the heroic figure of the past Sentai, but also contains many new elements. We will deliver it to everyone with confidence and anticipation," he said.
Imamori, the first "black female" to be a regular Super Sentai warrior, won the grand prize in the Miss Magazine 2023 beauty contest sponsored by Kodansha. "I want to work hard every day with full energy and energy so that everyone can enjoy the shoot every week," she said enthusiastically.
The cast for the enemy organization "Bridean" was also announced, with Daisuke Sambongi (35) playing Fire Candle, the leader of the special attack unit, and Marupi (25) playing Bouquet, the leader of the technical unit. "No.1 Sentai Gozyuger" is a story about five heroes based on beasts such as animals and dinosaurs, who battle against the "Number One Monster" who has reached the top in all fields, rivals who wield the power of all the previous Reds, and even other Gojugers, in search of the "Sentai Ring," a ring that is said to grant any wish.
