To commemorate the 35th anniversary of the production of "Devilman: Sirene the Demon Bird," an original video animation (OVA) based on Go Nagai's manga "Devilman," which Nagai himself directed, it has been announced that the OVAs "Devilman: Birth" and "Devilman: Sirene the Demon Bird" will be screened in theaters starting February 14th. This will be the first time that the two works will be screened in theaters together.
"Devilman: Birth" will be shown from February 14th, and "Devilman: Demon Bird Sirene" from February 21st. Both will be shown for one week only.
"Devilman: Birth" was an OVA released in 1987. It tells the story of how Akira Fudo merges with Demon to defeat the demon Demon who has awakened from a long slumber, and gains the demon's powers to become the human "Devilman". "Devilman: Demon Bird Sirene" was released as an OVA in 1990. Akira Fudo, reborn as Devilman, engages in a fierce battle with his nemesis, the demon bird Sirene.
