NHK's history program "Rekishi Tantei" (General) will be broadcasting a program on the theme of "huge earthquakes" from 10 pm on January 15th. Shinya Niiro, who experienced the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake 30 years ago and plays a Kobe city employee in the Asadora"Omusubi", will be making a guest appearance. Together with Jiro Sato and others, he will be thinking about "huge earthquakes" from a historical perspective.
Niiro said, "I was really surprised to see how many monuments there are in Japan that tell of things that happened in the event of natural disasters like earthquakes and tsunamis, and what everyone should do. Japan has experienced so many disasters, that it's all the more important that we pass on these stories."

It has been 30 years since the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. The theme of the film is how to convey the memories of past earthquakes and how to reduce disaster damage. Sato and Niiro will co-star for the first time since the 2022 taiga drama "The 13 Lords of the Shogun."
