It has been announced that model and actor Ishikawa Ren will be appearing in the second episode (broadcast on January 18th) of the TV drama series "Honnou Switch" (TV Asahi, Saturday 11pm). She will play Saito Kaede, a middle school classmate of Akiyama Hijiri (played by Kaito Miyachika) and Hoshi Koa (played by Aoi Wakana), and Hijiri's ex-girlfriend.
The drama is a live-action adaptation of the manga of the same name by KUJIRA (Kodansha), starring Miyachika and Aoi from "Travis Japan". It depicts the "delayed first love" of childhood friends, Kiyoshi and Koa, who have been like family for 26 years, who end up spending the night together by chance and rediscover their sealed feelings for each other.
Ishikawa plays Kaede, who dated Sei in middle school, but the two quickly broke up due to entrance exams. Kowa was scared to see the two of them, who had been lovers until recently, no longer looking at each other as soon as they broke up. This prompted Kowa to seal away her feelings for Sei, which she had begun to become aware of, and to resolve to remain the "closest and safest" childhood friend she could be with forever.
In the second episode, Kaede reunites with Kiyoshi and Koa at her middle school reunion. She finds out that the two have started dating... Kaede has contact with not only Kiyoshi and Koa, but also an "unexpected person," and is expected to be a key person who will disrupt their relationship. Visuals of Ishikawa, Miyachika, and Aoi in their uniforms have also been released.
