The official trailer for the theatrical pre-release of the latest work in the popular anime series "Gundam", "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuX -Beginning-", has been released on YouTube. The trailer features the theme song "Plazma" by singer-songwriter Kenshi Yonezu, and shows the main character's mobile suit, GQuuuuuX, in battle.
The TV anime series is broadcast on Nippon Television, and ahead of its broadcast, a re-edited version of some episodes of "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-" will be screened in 426 theaters, including IMAX screenings, from January 17th.
"Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" is the first collaboration between Sunrise, which is responsible for the "Gundam" series, and khara, known for the "Evangelion" series. Kazuya Tsurumaki will be the director, Yoji Enokido will be in charge of series composition, and Ikuto Yamashita will be in charge of mechanical design.
The story is about the protagonist, high school girl Amate Yuzuriha (Machu), who lives a peaceful life in a space colony floating in space, but after meeting a war refugee girl named Nyaan, she becomes embroiled in an illegal mobile suit duel competition, a clan battle... The protagonist's robot, GQuuuuuuX, is a mysterious state-of-the-art mobile suit piloted by Amate Yuzuriha, and participates in clan battles as a robot belonging to the Pomeranians.
Tomoyo Kurosawa plays Amate Yuzuriha, Yui Ishikawa plays Nyaan, a girl who works as an illegal courier, and Shimba Tsuchiya plays Shuuji Ito, a mysterious boy who appears before Machu and Nyaan.
