It was announced on December 25th that the rock group "B'z" will be making their first appearance as a special guest on the "75th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen" to be broadcast on New Year's Eve. They will be performing "Illumination", the theme song for the currently airing TV drama "Omusubi".
Since their debut in 1988, B'z has achieved million-sellers with 15 singles and 19 albums. In 2008, they were recognized by the Guinness World Records as the artist with the highest album sales in Japan, and have long been at the top of the Japanese music scene.
The 75th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen will be broadcast on December 31st from 7:20pm to 11:45pm (with some news breaks). Hiroiki Ariyoshi, Kanna Hashimoto, Sari Ito, and announcer Naoko Suzuki will be the hosts.
