It has been announced that the third season of the TV anime "Hyakusho Kizoku", based on the agricultural essay manga by Hiromu Arakawa, known for popular manga such as "Fullmetal Alchemist" and "Silver Spoon", will be produced. The final episode of the second season was broadcast on TOKYO MX on December 20th, and the production of the third season was announced.
TOKYO MX will broadcast selected episodes from the second season at the end of the year. Episode 15, "Compost," will air on December 27th at 9:54 PM, and episode 19, "Continued! Dad," will air on December 28th at 10:25 PM. The first season will be broadcast in its entirety from 8:30 AM on January 3rd, 2025. The second season will be rebroadcast every Monday from the 6th at 9:54 PM.
To commemorate the decision to produce a third season, it was also announced that a giveaway campaign called "Bundle Harvest Campaign" will be held on Official X (Twitter), where participants will have the chance to win original goods.
"Hyakusho Kizoku" is an agricultural essay manga based on Arakawa's experiences in Hokkaido, currently being serialized in the manga magazine "Wings" (Shinshokan). It depicts the harsh reality of Japanese dairy farming and the tough and powerful way of life along with hilarious anecdotes. The total number of copies of the comics published is over 4.1 million.
The first season of the TV anime aired on TOKYO MX and other channels from July to September 2023. The second season began airing in October and aired its final episode on December 20th.
