A new visual for the latest work in the popular anime series "Gundam", "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuX", has been released. The key visual for the theatrical advance version "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuX -Beginning-" features GQuuuuuuX and Amate Yuzuriha. It was also announced that the theatrical advance version will be screened in IMAX from January 17, 2025, the opening day of the film. This will be the first time that the "Gundam" series will be screened in IMAX. A trailer for the theatrical advance version has also been released on YouTube.
"Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" is the first collaboration between Sunrise, the studio behind the "Gundam" series, and khara, known for the "Evangelion" series, with Kazuya Tsurumaki as director, Yoji Enokido as series composer, and Ikuto Yamashita in charge of mechanical design.
The main character is a high school girl named Amate Yuzuriha (Machu), who lives a peaceful life in a space colony floating in space, but when she meets a war refugee girl named Nyaan, she becomes embroiled in an illegal mobile suit duel competition, a clan battle... The main character's machine, GQuuuuuuX, is a mysterious state-of-the-art mobile suit piloted by Amate Yuzuriha, and participates in clan battles as a machine belonging to the Pomeranians.
Tomoyo Kurosawa plays Amate Yuzuriha, Yui Ishikawa plays Nyaan, a girl who works as an illegal courier, and Shimba Tsuchiya plays Shuuji Ito, a mysterious boy who appears before Machu and Nyaan.
The TV anime series will be broadcast on Nippon Television, and ahead of the broadcast, a re-edited version of some episodes of "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-" will be screened at 373 theaters nationwide from January 17, 2025.
