According to the movie attendance rankings for the 6th to 8th of December announced on December 9th (surveyed by Kogyo Tsushinsha), Disney Animation Studios' latest film "Moana 2" (directed by Dave Derrick Jr. et al.) took the top spot on its first appearance. In the three days since its release on December 6th, it attracted approximately 679,000 people and earned approximately 938 million yen in box office revenue. The cumulative results, including the advance screening on December 5th, were approximately 697,000 people and approximately 964 million yen in box office revenue, making it a strong start.
Among the first-time entries, "Doctor-X the Movie" (directed by Tamura Naoki), the final installment of the popular drama series "Doctor-X: Surgeon Daimon Michiko" (TV Asahi), starring actress Yonekura Ryoko, ranked second. In the three days since its release on December 6th, it attracted approximately 441,000 viewers and grossed approximately 604 million yen. "Sorry for My Little Brothers" (directed by Miki Koichiro), based on the manga by Ozaki Akira, debuted in fourth place, attracting approximately 68,000 viewers and grossing approximately 94 million yen since its release on December 6th.
Coming in third is "Seitai" (directed by Michihito Fujii), which debuted at No. 1 last week. It attracted around 86,000 people over the three-day weekend, bringing its box office income to around 122 million yen, for a cumulative total of around 350,000 people and 458 million yen. "Muroi Shinji: The One Who Continues to Live" (directed by Katsuyuki Motohiro), in its fourth week since release, came in fifth, attracting a cumulative total of 1.06 million people and bringing its box office income to over 1.4 billion yen.
