Additional cast members for the TV anime "Ao no Hako," based on the popular manga by Miura Koji, have been announced, including Ono Yuki and Ono Kensho. As Hariu and Daiki take on the doubles match at the prefectural tournament, a strong rival appears before them. Ono Yuki will play Hyoudou Shota, a member of the boys' badminton club at Sachigawa High School, the Inter-High School champion, and Ono Kensho will play Yusa Shuujin, also a member of the Sachigawa High School boys' badminton club.
Ono Yuki commented, "He looks intimidating and has an overwhelming aura of strength, but when you talk to him, he's friendly and a nice guy who casually gives you accurate, forward-looking advice. Personally, I'm very happy that Kensho is playing the role of Yusa. Please look forward to it!"
Ono Kensho said, "My first impression of Yusa is that he is a laid-back guy who is hard to read. But his passion for badminton is genuine, and I hope I can express the fighting spirit inside him. I will do my best to become a big wall for Taiki in the future. Please support me!"
It was also announced that a collaboration event "Ao no Hako Aquarium Story" will be held at Sunshine Aquarium (Toshima-ku, Tokyo) from November 15th. The event will introduce the spots that Taiki and Chinatsu visited, and you can enjoy an audio guide by the cast. Collaboration-only goods will be sold, and food and drinks will also be provided. Until December 25th.
The original work began serialization in April 2021 in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha). Set at Sakae High School, a strong sports school that combines junior and senior high school sports, the story is about a youth club activity love story in which Inomata Taiki, a member of the boys' badminton club, falls in love with Shikano Chinatsu, a senior in the girls' basketball club. The anime stars Shoya Chiba as Daiki Inomata and Reina Ueda as Chinatsu Shikano, as well as Akari Kito, Chiaki Kobayashi, and Yuuma Uchida. It is produced by Telecom Animation Film. It airs on TBS every Thursday at 11:56 pm.
