NHK's history program "History Detectives" (General) will broadcast "The Losers of Sekigahara Run!" from 10pm on November 6th, coinciding with the anniversary of Ishida Mitsunari's death (solar calendar). The program will look into the "unknown escape drama" of the Western Army generals who were defeated at Sekigahara.

After the defeat, Ishida Mitsunari, who for some reason headed north instead of heading to his castle, Sawayama Castle, or Osaka Castle. Konishi Yukinaga, despite being a Christian daimyo, was enshrined in a shrine in the place where he was captured. And Shimazu Yoshihiro, who escaped more than 1000km to Satsuma with the determination to die. By thoroughly investigating their footsteps with the help of legends, the "real image" of the Warring States samurai who, even after defeat, clung to "living without dying with honor" has come into view.
