The red carpet event for the film "Black Showman" (directed by Tanaka Ryo, scheduled for release on September 12th), starring singer and actor Fukuyama Masaharu, was held at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi (Minato Ward, Tokyo) on August 26th, with Fukuyama, Kasumi Arimura, Ryo Narita, Erika Ikuta, Subaru Subaru Kimura and other stellar actors, as well as director Tanaka, making an appearance. Arimura showed off her beautiful legs in a white dress.
Fukuyama and his team walked the red carpet to the cheers of around 200 fans. The event also featured appearances by the comedy trio "Hanako," including Hiroki Akiyama, Atsuhiro Inukai, Sae Okazaki, Atsushi Ito, Katsuhisa Namase, and Toru Nakamura.
Fukuyama greeted the audience by saying, "Thank you all for coming. We can finally release the film. There was a gap in filming, but during that time the cast and staff's ideas and approaches to the film broadened and deepened, and I think that in the end it has become a well-worth watching, flawless film. Please be sure to check it out." The event concluded with a jet of smoke being fired in sync with Fukuyama's call of "It's Show Time."
The film is based on a novel by Higashino Keigo. Former junior high school teacher Kamio Eiichi is murdered by an unknown assailant. His daughter, Kamio Mayo (Arimura), who was due to be married in two months, receives the sudden news of his death and returns to her hometown. Hoping to find out the truth about why Eiichi was killed, Mayo is approached by her uncle, Kamio Takeshi (Fukuyama). Armed with his exceptional magic tricks, his wicked sleight of hand, and his mentalist-level skill at observing people and leading questions, Mayo takes on the mystery of the murder... this is the story.
