Episode 9, "Kamon," of the TV anime "MAO," based on the latest work by Rumiko Takahashi , known for manga such as " Urusei Yatsura ," "Ranma 1/2," and "Inuyasha," will be broadcast on NHK General on May 30th at 11:45 PM.
Mao and his companions rush to the scene when Tenko is hit by a car driven by Ibaraki Tanehiko, who kidnaps young girls. Just then, a man named Kuchinawa appears, having been hired by the head of the Ibaraki family. Kuchinawa uses wood-based yin-yang magic, but his true identity is Kamon, Mao's senior disciple.
The original manga has been serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan) since May 2019. Set in the Taisho era, it's a dark fantasy x time-slip mystery about Mao, an onmyoji (exorcist) who has lived for 900 years, who meets Kiyoha Nanaka, a girl who has wandered in from the Reiwa era, and together they confront a chain of curses. The anime is directed by Teruo Sato and produced by Sunrise. It will be broadcast for two consecutive seasons.
