It has been announced that singer-songwriter Nomurasaki will be performing the opening theme "Take Off My Glasses" for the TV anime " The You and I Are Polar Opposites ," which is based on the manga by Kocha Agasawa that was serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump+." The fourth promotional video featuring the song has also been released on YouTube. The promotional video features a monologue from the perspective of Tani, the man the protagonist Suzuki has feelings for, and features all of the unique main characters surrounding Suzuki and Tani.
Nomurasaki commented, "I am extremely honored to be performing my first anime theme song for this work. The work will make you empathize with the youthful stories of the unique characters, bring tears to your eyes, and make you want to cheer them on. The song is packed with inspiration I got from reading the original work. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to come across this wonderful work, which is sure to draw you in, and this wonderful production team."
The manga was serialized in Shonen Jump+ from May 2022 to November 2024. It is a romantic comedy depicting the love story between Suzuki, a lively girl who reads the atmosphere, and Tani, a quiet boy who can clearly express his opinions. The total number of copies of the manga, including the digital version, has exceeded 1.6 million. The anime will be directed by Takakazu Nagatomo and produced by Lapin Track. It will be broadcast on MBS and TBS every Sunday at 5:00 PM starting January 11, 2026.
