It was revealed on November 20th that Kento Nakajima will be starring in the NHK drama series "Convenience Store Brothers: Tenderness Mojiko Koganemura Store," which will start in spring 2026. This will be Nakajima's first time appearing in a drama for the station.
The drama is based on the novel of the same name by Machida Sonoko. It is a heartwarming and mysterious human comedy set in a convenience store in Mojiko Port, Kitakyushu City. The script is written by Nemoto Nonji, known for NHK's morning drama " Omusubi " (2024 second Asadora ) and the NHK Drama 10 series " Shijiki Fudosan."
Nakajima plays the main character, convenience store manager Shiba Mitsuhiko. Not only is he hardworking, he exudes a bewitching pheromone that captivates men and women of all ages. Nakajima recalls, "When I read the original work, the first thing that attracted me was the phrase 'pheromone manager.' To be honest, at first I thought, 'If I was selling myself as an idol and being sexy, then finally I've been offered a role in that line' (laughs)."
"However, I feel that the 'pheromone' in this work is not about physical sex appeal, but about the kindness that envelops people," he said. "A slightly salty humanity like the sea breeze at Mojiko Port, and a warmth that melts someone's heart. I want to approach Mitsu with all my heart and play a man who has both of these qualities. I hope you will feel the great tenderness that comes from a small convenience store."
Nakajima also said, "This is my first NHK drama, so I'm really looking forward to it," and appealed to viewers, "I'll do my best to make this drama enjoyable for everyone across Japan. My pheromones may be at their peak after filming, but I hope you'll support me."
The drama will consist of 10 episodes and will be broadcast on NHK General TV.
