Also screening at the same time was a new short film from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans," "Intermission Wedge." Appearing on stage were Kengo Kawanishi, who voices Kengo Kawanishi Augus, the protagonist of "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans," and Rina Ikoma, who voices Wisterio Afam, the protagonist of "Urdr Hunt." Ikoma, who plays the important role of the protagonist in the "Gundam" series, expressed her joy, saying, "I'm honored to be involved in such an incredible production," and "I'm happy to be a part of such a wonderful work."
"Urudr Hunt" is an anime distributed on the "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans G" smartphone app for "Iron-Blooded Orphans." Following the end of service for the app in January 2024, the second half of episode 12, "Shiden no Sora," was announced, but it was announced that it would be developed as an "animated video work."
The special edition of "Uruzu Hunt" has re-edited all 12 episodes and added new scenes. Ikoma said that it had been a while since she last played Wisterio, and commented, "I felt like I was able to grow together with him. It was the first new recording in about two years, but I also felt like I had been facing the role for two or three years, so it was a strange experience. When I read the script, I was able to understand Wisterio's resolve."
"Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans" is set approximately 300 years after the end of the great war known as the Calamity War, and depicts the battles of Mikazuki, Augus, and the Tekkadan. The first season aired from October 2015 to March 2016, and the second season aired from October 2016 to April 2017.
