Misato Ugaki appears at the press conference for her starring drama "Even if I can, even if I can't"

Freelance announcer Misato Ugaki appeared at a press conference held in Tokyo on September 30th for the drama series "Dekidemo, Dekinetemo" (TV Tokyo, Thursday midnight, 12:30am), which starts on October Getsuku. She said that filming this drama, her first lead role in a drama series, has led to "a morning lifestyle."

She said that much of the filming for this work began early in the morning, and smiled, "Until now, I've been a real nocturnal person. I think it's night until the editor wakes up, so I start writing manuscripts that are due that day after the date has changed (laughs).As a result of being forced to work in the early hours, I realized that working in the early hours isn't so bad."

However, perhaps due to a change in her lifestyle, she said with a wry smile, "I haven't been able to control my appetite recently. I end up eating too many sweets in between scenes, and my stomach growls a lot. Even during sensitive scenes, my stomach growls and I have to say, 'I'm sorry'... (laughs). So I get my manager to put quail eggs in my pocket, and I always eat those."

The drama is based on the manga of the same name by Asahina Mika, and is an adult love story about a protagonist who is infertile. Monono Sui (played by Ugaki), a 32-year-old construction company worker, is dumped by her boyfriend after discovering that she is infertile, and then, when rumors spread at work, she is forced to quit. While physically and mentally exhausted, she meets Tsukidome Mao (played by Jyutaro Yamanaka), a handsome younger man. In order to turn a blind eye to her sense of loss, she makes a "certain proposal" to Mao, whom she has just met.

Regarding Midori, Ugaki said, "She's a character who holds back what she wants to say. I tend to say it straight away, so that's where we differ. I think holding back and being patient for someone else's sake is also a sign of strength, so I'm taking great care in playing her." Finally, she appealed, "The story deals with themes such as infertility and what true happiness is, but there are also heart-fluttering moments, attacks by rivals, and friendship between women, so I hope viewers will enjoy the diverse charms of this story."

Yamanaka, Hina Higuchi, Uehara Yuta, Kento Shibuya, Furuya Ryotoshi, and Mizusaki Ayame also appeared at the press conference.
