It has been announced that the TV anime "Young Ladies Don't Play Fighting Games: Ojousama wa Kakutou Game Nante Shinai," based on the manga by Eri Ejima currently serialized in "Monthly Comic Flapper" (KADOKAWA), will be postponed to 2026. The series was originally scheduled to air in 2025, but it was announced that "after coordinating schedules with all parties involved, we have decided to change the broadcast start date."
The anime is also attracting attention for its collaboration with "Street Fighter 6," a popular fighting game series from the "Street Fighter" series, and the characters that the four main characters will use in the game have been announced. The protagonist, Aya Mizuki, will play Cammy, the other protagonist, Mio Yae, will play Ryu, Yu Inui, will play Ken, and Tamaki Ichinose, will play Juri. Collaboration visuals have also been released.
"Young Ladies Don't Play Fighting Games" is a manga set in an all-girls school that depicts high school girls becoming obsessed with fighting games. The anime will be directed by Ibata Shota and produced by Diomedea. It will also feature Hasegawa Ikumi as Ikumi Hasegawa and Kana Ichinose as Yae Mio.
