The 125th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan " (General TV, Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM and other times), starring Mio Imada , was broadcast on September 19th, and Taka ( Takumi Kitamura) and "Yam-on-chan"Sokichi Yamura(Sadao Abe) finally reunited, attracting the attention of viewers.
In episode 125, after the musical "Anpanman: The Mysterious Hero" has finished, Kusakichi appears holding an Anpan shaped like Anpanman's face. As he is handing out the Anpan to children, Taka arrives and the two are reunited. Overwhelmed with emotion, Taka hugs Kusakichi without thinking.
"It's a lot better than the weird old man Anpanman you drew at first," Kusakichi says, to which Taka asks, "Have you been reading it?" Kusakichi replies, "I just happened to come across it," but Taka replies, "Anpanman isn't popular enough that you just happen to come across it," and Kusakichi laughs, "Don't you think it's sad to hear yourself say that?"
Regarding Anpanman, Kusakichi said, "It's a work that suits you, so why not?" and continued, "I read it and realized that you went to war too. War makes you hungry." Taka added emphatically, "He delivers Anpan to hungry people. It doesn't matter if they're friend or foe. It doesn't matter who's on the right side or who's evil, he just delivers bread. This is what I think a hero is."
Kusakichi reveals his painful past during the war, when he stole hardtack from the pocket of a fallen soldier and ate it, and laughed, "I wish Anpanman had been here then." Taka expressed his gratitude to Kusakichi, saying, "Thanks to you for surviving like that, you are now by my side."
Kusakichi is impressed, saying, "But you've grown up, haven't you? You've created a hero who saves starving people," and points out that Anpanman's round face resembles someone. When Taka explains that he drew him remembering Chihiro (Motoki Nakazawa), Kusakichi points out, "Chihiro is a slender, handsome man, isn't he?" When Taka adds that it was Chihiro (Hirayama Seigo) when he was a child, Kusakichi seems to understand, saying, "Oh, I see."
When Kusakichi visited the Yanai household in episode 115 (broadcast on September 5th), Takashi was out and unable to meet Kusakichi. The two were finally reunited after a long time, and viewers responded on social media with comments such as, "Takashi and Yamu-san are finally reunited," "Oh! It's been a while since Takashi saw Uncle Yamu," "Takashi-kun, it's been a long time since you've seen Uncle Yamu♪," "How old is Yamu-san?", "Uncle Yamu never ages, is he because he's a fairy?", "Yam keeps repeating the line about sleeping on the train tracks," "Are you still talking about sleeping on the train tracks?", and "He's still talking about sleeping on the train tracks."
Comments such as, "Seeing Takashi's hero wanting everyone to eat their fill, Uncle Yam is reminded of his time at war. It resonates with people who have had the same experience," "The conversation between the two here is the underlying message of Anpanman," "Takashi and Yam are finally reunited. Anpanman's face is that of little Chihiro, I see," "Anpanman's face is that of little Chihiro..." and "Could they have cast a boy with a round face as the child actor for Chihiro just for this!?" were also received.
