It has been announced that Nagi Sato, a third-year student at Higashiyama High School (Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City), has been selected as a scholarship recipient for the 19th Slam Dunk Scholarship, which supports young basketball players. Sato is 176 cm tall and plays point guard. She will travel to the United States in 2026 to study and play basketball at St. Thomas More School.
The Slam Dunk Scholarship was established in 2006 by Takehiko Inoue, a manga artist known for the popular basketball manga Slam Dunk. It provides high school students who are active in basketball with the opportunity to study in the United States after graduating from high school. Sekiya Makoto was selected as the 18th recipient and traveled to the United States in August.
