The 35th episode of the NHK Taiga drama " UNBOUND (Berabou) " (General TV, Sunday 8pm and others), starring actor Ryusei Yokohama , titled "Machigaida Kobunbu no Futamichi" (The Two Paths of the Wrong Kite and the Literature and Martial Arts), was broadcast on September 14th, and viewers reacted to a certain scene in the preview for the next episode, which was released after the main story.
◇The following contains spoilers
" UNBOUND (Berabou)" is the 64th taiga drama and depicts the life of Tsutaya Juzaburo(or "Tsutajyu" for short), who is said to have laid the foundations for Japan's media industry and pop culture. The script was written by Yoshiko Morishita, who is known for her work on the highly talked-about "Drama 10: Ooku," which aired on NHK two years ago.
In the 35th episode, "Bunbunido Mankoku Dooshi" (The Two Arts of Literature and Martial Arts, the Thousand Koku Comprehensive Strategy) mocks Sadanobu's (Inoue Yuki) politics. However, when Sadanobu sees this, he misunderstands it, and instead the reforms gain momentum, leaving Tsutae (Yokohama) with mixed feelings. Meanwhile, he learns from the Yomiuri that Sadanobu has become an assistant to the shogun.
Utamaro (Shota Sometani) reunites with Kiyo (Fujima), who once collected paintings from an abandoned temple, and has a change of heart. At Edo Castle, Ienari (Kairi Jō) fathers a child with a maid from the inner palace... and so on.
At the end of the episode, narrator Ayase Haruka's voice explains, "And now, the Tenmei era has been renamed the first year of the Kansei era. 'Oumugaeshi Bunbu no Futamichi' (Parrot Return, Two Paths of Literature and Martial Arts), which contains further satire towards Etchu-no-kami, is completed. This will be a turning point in Tsutaya's fate," and then, as if to symbolize something, a kite falls with its string cut, creating an ominous development. Next, a preview of the next episode, the 36th, "Oumu no Keri wa Kamo" (airing September 21st), was released, showing Koikawa Harumachi (Okayama Amane) about to commit harakiri (separate suicide) with the words "Playing with your life on the line" on display.
As the author of "Omu Kaeri Bunbu Ni Do" is Koikawa Harumachi, there were concerns on social media such as "It's a dangerous piece of satire," "It's way too much of a tease," "I wonder if Otei's fears will come true...," "Isn't this a sign of his departure?" and "Please don't let him die so early," and as the preview for the next episode progressed from the final scene, scream-like comments were posted, such as "Ominous... preview...! Harumachi-sensei!", "No way!", "Harumachi-sensei!!!" and "Oh no, it's ominous. I don't want to see Harumachi-sensei commit seppuku."
