The visuals for the event "Are you ready to have fun? The Osomatsu-san Sextuplets and Mr. Osomatsu Welcome Party!!," which will be held to commemorate the broadcast of the fourth season of the popular TV anime " Mr. Osomatsu ," have been released. The event will be held on June 6th at Westa Kawagoe Main Hall (Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture), and the visual has the theme of "Let's blow away the humidity of the rainy season!" and depicts the sextuplets and Totoko holding umbrellas having fun above rainbows and clouds.
The first episode of the fourth season will be screened at the event, and it was announced that there will also be a talk corner with the seven cast members. The event will be streamed live and will be live-viewed at movie theaters nationwide. Appearances will include Takahiro Sakurai ( Osomatsu ), Yuichi Nakamura ( Karamatsu ), Jun Fukuyama ( Choromatsu), Hiroshi Kamiya Ichimatsu (Ichimatsu), Daisuke Ono ( Jyushimatsu ), Miyu Irino ( Todomatsu) , and Aya Endo(Totoko).
Merchandise for the event has also been revealed. In addition to an original pamphlet featuring cast and staff interviews full of spoilers for the first episode of the fourth season and exclusive gravure photos of the sextuplets on the theme of "Playing in the Rain," the lineup includes trading tin badges, acrylic stands, umbrella markers, and T-shirts with pine trees on them, all featuring the event visuals. Reservations will be accepted from 3pm on June 6th at the Mr. Osomatsu Fan Club Shop and other locations.
"Mr. Osomatsu" is based on Fujio Akatsuka's comedy manga "Osomatsu kun." It depicts the daily lives of the sextuplets as adults, and its extreme gags have made it popular among female anime fans. The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2015 to March 2016, the second season from October 2017 to March 2018, and the third season from October 2020 to March 2021. The movie version of "Osomatsu San Movie" was released in March 2019. The first new anime to commemorate the 6th anniversary, "Mr. Osomatsu: The Hippipo Tribe and the Shining Fruit," will be screened in theaters from July 2022, and the second, "Mr. Osomatsu: The Soulful Takoyaki Party and the Legendary Sleepover," will be screened in theaters from July 2023.
The fourth season will be directed by Yoshinori Kodaka, who also directed "Mr. Osomatsu: The Hippipo Tribe and the Shining Fruit." This will be Kodaka's first time directing a TV series. Following on from the previous series, Shu Matsubara will be in charge of series composition and Eiji Yasuhiko will be in charge of character design. The series will begin airing on TV Tokyo and other networks in July.
