It has been announced that the second season of the TV anime " I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability, " based on a popular work that originated from the novel submission site " Shosetsuka ni Naro, " will begin airing on TV Tokyo and other channels from July Getsuku. Additional cast members have been announced, including Morikubo Shoutarou as Gilliel and Miyamoto Mitsuru as the Mysterious Priest. A key visual has also been released, depicting Lloyd and friends with the church where the story takes place behind them. Also depicted is a mysterious figure smiling fearlessly, and a winged figure standing on top of the church. The official PV featuring Gilliel and the Mysterious Priest has also been released.
Jilliel is a faithful disciple of the 64 gods of heaven and an angel of God. Morikubo commented, "I'm taking on this challenge with everything I can open. There are a lot of detailed drawings from the dubbing stage, so it's fun and I can't let my guard down! It's just so much fun!"
The Mysterious Father is a priest whom Babylon meets in the church courtyard, and Miyamoto said, "I get nervous when I join a series partway through. First I try to understand the worldview and style of the work. But this time, I was taken aback when I saw the rehearsal screen for my first appearance. A voyeuristic angel suddenly appeared, the fights were so fast my eyes couldn't keep up, and I thought my role was a creepy man but suddenly it became comical... What kind of style is this work?! I'll throw away any preconceived notions, reset all my acting experience so far, and do my best!"
The series is a light novel by Kenmotsu Circle, and its comic adaptation by Ishizawa Yosuke, currently serialized in Magazine Pocket (Kodansha), has also gained popularity, with the series having sold over 7 million copies in total. The story follows a magician who was not blessed with magical talent and died an untimely death, but is reincarnated as Lloyd, the seventh prince of the Saloum Kingdom, who has a strong magical bloodline, and who meets friends while mastering magic. The first season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2024. The second season will air from July.
