Hamada has been on hiatus since March 10 due to poor health. Junior comedians have been filling in for him on the programs he was appearing on.
According to his management company, Yoshimoto Kogyo, he has recovered and will resume his activities with an appearance on the radio show "Gobu Gobu Radio" (MBS), scheduled to air at 12:30 a.m. on May 2nd.
Yoshimoto Kogyo stated, "We would like to once again apologize to all concerned parties and fans for the inconvenience and concern caused during Hamada's period of leave, and we ask for your continued support of Downtown and Hamada."
