The first-ever exhibition to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump+", "Shonen Jump+ Exhibition", opened on April 18th at Terada Warehouse G1 Building (Shinagawa, Tokyo). The exhibition allows visitors to experience the 10 years of "Shonen Jump+", which began service in September 2014, as well as the "present", and features illustrations and videos from over 370 titles, including "SPY×FAMILY", "Dandadan", and "Kaiju No. 8". The exhibition runs until May 18th. Tickets are available on a designated date and time basis for all dates, and will end when they are sold out.
At the entrance to the venue, visitors are greeted by newly drawn illustrations of characters from popular works, such as Anya from "SPY×FAMILY," Okarun and Turbo Baba from " Dandadan ," and Kafka from " Kaiju No. 8," dressed up in costume. After watching the "Jump+ Exhibition Special Theater," a video introducing all the works at once, visitors proceed to the exhibition area and enter "Jump+ Road," with its bright red floor reminiscent of the "Shonen Jump+" logo. Famous scenes from the first episode of each work, color pages, and history are introduced, allowing visitors to feel the progress of the past 10 years.
The "SPY×FAMILY Area" is an exhibition where you can experience the world of the work from Anya's perspective. There are photo spots where you can take photos with Anya and Bond, as well as a photo spot that recreates the classrooms of Eden Academy. The "Anya Doodle Blackboard" displays illustrations of Anya by serial artists such as Yuuji Kaku of " Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku 'Girl Meets Rock! ".
The " Kaiju No. 8 Area" expresses the power of the work with a gathering of Numbers and a giant No. 8 board. The color illustrations "Kaiju Hyakkei", which are published in the serial between the main story, are also on display, along with a comment from the artist , Naoya Matsumoto. The comment includes information that has never been released before, so be sure to check it out.
The "Dandadan Area" features the creative process of author Yukinobu Tatsu, with a reproduction of Tatsu's work desk. Double-page spreads with detailed brushstrokes are also on display at a size close to the actual manuscript. There is also a photo spot where you can enjoy Okarun and Momo running away from Turbo Granny.
Other attractions include a Character Walk featuring life-sized illustrations of popular works, an exhibition of each work's "famous quotes," "battles," "excitement," and "best chapters," and a "Good Jump Wall" where you can enjoy a realistic reproduction of the "good jump" you feel after finishing "Shonen Jump+" and stick "good jump" stickers on your favorite works. Another must-see is the "Graffiti Art Wall," where an entire wall is lined with illustrations hand-drawn by the series' authors. This is an exhibition where you can enjoy the charm of "Shonen Jump+" from every angle.
"Shonen Jump+" launched in September 2014. It features over 70 original free serialized manga, and also offers subscriptions to the digital version of "Weekly Shonen Jump" and "Jump Comics." The service has been downloaded over 30 million times.
