Actor Baku Owada and his daughter, actress Miho Owada, will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will be broadcast at 1:00 pm on April 14th. It has been five years since his wife, actress Kumiko Okae, passed away. For the past four years, Baku has been living with his daughter Miho and grandchild in a two-generation household.
It was Miho who suggested they live together. "Maybe I looked lonely, but I was happy," Baku revealed. Even though they live together, they have separate entrances and kitchens, and they only eat together about once a week. Baku is a good cook, so he doesn't have any trouble finding food to eat even when he's alone.
Two years ago, the father and daughter formed a group called "Bakumiho" and began working with children with serious illnesses and disabilities. They say that it was this work that helped them to move forward during difficult times. Behind this work seems to be their feelings for Okae, who was always positive.
