Actor Yoshihiko Inohara attended a roundtable discussion for the drama " Tokuso9 Final Season" (TV Asahi, Wednesdays 9pm), which he stars in and which began that evening, held at the TV Asahi headquarters (Minato Ward, Tokyo) on Getsuku , along with co-star Michiko Hada and general producer Takehiro Okawa.
The drama is the successor to "Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Investigative Division 9 Unit" (2006-2017), which starred the late Tsunehiko Watase, and began airing in April 2018. It depicts the unique group of members of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Investigative Division 1 Special Investigation Unit (Special Investigation Unit) as they take on difficult cases. This season marks the 20th installment in the series, and will be the final season since "9 Unit."
During the roundtable discussion, Inohara began by saying, "There's something I'd like to personally thank...", mentioning that the theme songs for the drama have been performed by the groups he is a member of, V6 and 20th Century, since the "9th Division" days, and expressed his gratitude, saying, "Having been able to perform the theme songs (for so long) has really helped us since our V6 days. Every time the show aired in the spring, we released a new song and we also had the opportunity to appear on 'Music Station'. I'm truly grateful."
However, it seems there was one thing that bothered him, as he laughed bitterly about "Sexy. Honey. Bunny!" (2011), the theme song for season 3 of "9th Division," saying, "I feel it's a shame that it ends with a close-up of Watase-san saying Sexy! Honey! Bunny!"
General Producer Okawa commented, "It was great that they created a style that ends with such an upbeat song, one that doesn't leave a bad aftertaste," and Haneda followed up by saying, "It also depends on the times (laughs)."
