On April Getsuku , actors Yoshihiko Inohara and Michiko Haneda attended a roundtable discussion for the drama series " Tokuso9 Final Season" (TV Asahi, Wednesdays 9pm), which began that evening, at the TV Asahi headquarters (Minato Ward, Tokyo), along with general producer Takehiro Okawa.
The drama is the successor to "Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Investigative Division 9 Unit" (2006-2017), which starred the late Tsunehiko Watase, and began airing in April 2018. It depicts the unique group of members of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Investigative Division 1 Special Investigation Unit (Special Investigation Unit) as they take on difficult cases. This season marks the 20th installment in the series, and will be the final season since "9 Unit."
The story has continued despite the "transfers" of the special investigation team members, including Akira Terao, Nakamura Baijaku, and Yamada Yuki Yamada. Inohara shared an episode of the friendship between the special investigation team cast, saying, "Nakamura Baijaku and Yuki Yamada graduated last time, but this time Baijaku will be appearing (as a guest) from the first episode, and Yamada keeps contacting me. He's always asking me, 'What's going on in the finale!?'"
Haneda also revealed, "Yamada still gives us gifts, so I wonder if he's here (on set) today (laughs)." Inohara also smiled and said, "I guess it's to say 'don't forget about me' (laughs). It's nice."
General Producer Okawa then said, "Everyone has simply been transferred and is now part of the world of ' Tokuso9.' You might even pass each other in the hallway..." hinting at a "surprise appearance" by former special investigation team members in the final season.
