Actor Jun Shison appeared with co-star Kishii Yukino at the production announcement for the drama "Murderous Encounter" (NTV, Wednesdays at 10pm), which begins on April 16th, held in Tokyo recently. In response to a question about his own "eye for insight" in relation to the drama, Shison replied, "I have the eye for knowing when Kishii is hungry." When asked, "Right now?" Shison replied, "I'm not hungry. I've been eating," to which Kishii replied with a shy smile, "I've been eating."
Kishii, who had been listening to Shison's comments, acknowledged his ability to see through people, but humorously retorted, "Lately, he's even been able to guess what I'm going to say next. It's really amazing. I wonder how he can know what I'm going to say. It's scary (laughs)." Shison defended himself, saying, "He's not scary! He's a fun guy! We're always looking each other in the eye, even when we're acting, and we're close to each other, so I've gradually come to understand him." This was the result of the good relationship they have built.
"Murderous Encounter" is an "ultimate love mystery" with a completely original script by the production staff of "Your Turn to Kill" (2019) and "The Real Culprit Flag" (2021-2022). Information program director Tsutsui Mankoto (Kishii) meets Shitara Hiroki (Shison), a famous reporter for a weekly magazine who named the serial murders "The Eye of Horus Murders" at the scene of a gruesome serial murder case. Although their reporting stances are different, they gradually become attracted to each other as they report together.
Also attending the press conference were Misato Morita, Shirasu Jin, and Tetsushi Tanaka. Tanaka, who plays the role of general director Noda Shotaro, played the role of weekly magazine editor-in-chief Kawamura Toshio in "The Real Culprit Flag," which excited viewers' speculation, but when asked about his performance in this work, he said, "As for me, I don't think I'll be the culprit twice," but added with a grin, "There's also the possibility that I might be the culprit behind the scenes, which might surprise viewers." He expressed his expectations for a battle of speculation in this work as well, saying, "Don't miss the small details."
