The fifth episode of the NHK Asadora drama series "Anpan " (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00am and others), starring Mio Imada , was broadcast on April 4th. At the end of the episode, the members of the Asada family were shown eating Anpan, which became a hot topic among viewers as the "title was redeemed."
In the fifth episode, the Asada family is in deep sorrow after Nobu's (Yuzuna Nagase) father, Yutaro (Ryo Kase), passes away. However, Nobu does not shed a single tear, and instead runs to the station where she saw Yutaro off, desperately searching for him.
By chance, Takashi happens to be at the station and hands Nobu a picture. It depicts Yutaro putting a soft hat on Nobu's head, capturing the last moment between father and son. Nobu embraces the picture and cries for the first time since Yutaro's death, saying, "Dad..."
As Nobu and Taka are walking from the station, the wandering baker Sokichi Yamura(Sadao Abe) calls out to them, saying, "Follow me," and serves freshly baked Anpan to the Asada family. Nobu's grandfather Kamaji (Kotaro Yoshida) and grandmother Kura (Miyoko Asada) savor the Anpan jam buns and shed tears, saying, "I wish we could have let Yutaro eat some, too." When Nobu's mother Hatako (Noriko Eguchi) places her hand on her chest and says, "It's warm here," her eyes water, Nobu smiles and says, "It's warm here."
With "Anpan" becoming a key item in the story, comments on social media included, "My tear ducts were down this morning. The retelling of the title made me cry," "I never thought a scene eating Anpan would make me cry," "The Asada family smiles as they eat the Anpan . It warms my heart," and "I have a feeling this will be a masterpiece."
April 4th is also known as " Anpan Day" in honor of the first presentation of Sakadane Sakura Anpan to Emperor Meiji when he visited the Mito Domain's Shimoyashiki in Mukojima, Tokyo in 1875 (Meiji 8). Viewers commented, "This kind of link is amazing," and "April 4th is Anpan Day? What a divine episode!"
