In the fourth episode (broadcast on April 3rd) of the NHK morning drama series " Anpan " (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00am, etc.) starring Mio Imada , a shocking turn of events was depicted in which the father of the main character Nobu (Nagase Yuzuna), Yutaro ( Ryo Kase), passed away. Imada shared her impressions of Kase's acting as Yutaro.
"Anpan" is based on the married couple Takashi Yanase(1919-2013) and Nobu (1918-1993), the manga artist and picture book writer who created "Anpanman." It is a "story of love and courage" that will make you feel the joy of living, depicting how these two, who were once nobody, overcame all sorts of rough seas to become "Anpanman," the embodiment of "unreversible justice." The script was written by Miho Nakazono, who is known for the "Doctor X: Surgeon Daimon Michiko" (TV Asahi) series.
In the fourth episode, Yutaro, who is away on a business trip for a month, suddenly suffers a heart attack on the boat on the way back and dies. In the fifth episode (broadcast on April 4), the Asada family is shown to be in deep sorrow after learning of Yutaro's sudden death.
Imada said regretfully about Kase, "Yutaro's role was that he dies when Nobu is a child, so there were no scenes with me and Kase."
"I was only able to pass him once on set, and finally got to say hello. My father is a very important figure to me, so there were many parts in Kase's acting that really touched me, and when I saw Kase's performance in the first week, I felt like he was my father."
"Anpan " depicts the period from the early Showa era to the postwar period, when Nobu was a child, it was common for women to get married and start a family as soon as they graduated from school. During that time, Nobu was raised by Yutaro, who taught her that "even girls can have dreams."
"Because her father told her these words from a young age, Nobu is naturally curious about the trend of women getting married immediately after graduating from school, and I think she grows into a woman who never gives up on pursuing her dreams, even if it's not easy."
In the fifth episode, the Asada family ate the delicious Anpan made by Sokichi Yamura(Sadao Abe ) and were given hope to live. How will Nobu, who is still young but gradually accepts the death of his beloved father and moves forward, grow? I'm looking forward to seeing how the story develops.
