It was revealed on April 4th that former TV Tokyo announcer Mori Kasumi will be co-starring with Haru Kashiwagi of the dance and vocal group Bullet Train in the drama "I'm at the Mercy of a Younger Virgin (Cherry Boy)," which will air on MBS's "Drama Tokku" time slot (Thursdays at 12:59am and others) starting on April 24th.
The drama is based on the webtoon of the same name, written by Seina and illustrated by Rio@, which has been distributed on the manga app "LINE Manga" since November last year and has been a hot topic, such as consecutively winning first place in the general ranking, romance ranking, and new ranking (as of November 22, 2024). It is a heartwarming romantic comedy about a sexually promiscuous 29-year-old adult woman who is at the mercy of a younger virgin boy with no dating experience.
Karen Imai (Mori) has the most stunning looks and has toyed with many men. She works hard as a PR professional for a cosmetics company and is satisfied with both her work and her private life, but she is unable to overcome the trauma of the past and tells herself that it's pointless to seriously fall in love! One day, at a drinking party with friends, she meets Domae Teito (Kashiwagi), a second-year graduate student at the University of Marine Science and Technology who is not very impressive and wears glasses. Karen is turned on by Teito's cunning attacks and does everything she can to win him over, but he doesn't react at all. From that day on, a series of coincidences occur and Karen gradually gets to know Teito's personality. Karen is sexually uninhibited, but the straightforward Teito tells her, "You should take care of yourself," and before she knows it, her heart begins to move... and so the story unfolds.

Frankly, I was happy when I heard about the role. I was a little nervous as it's my first time playing the heroine of a romantic comedy, but after reading the original work, I was looking forward to playing the charming Karen, whose expressions change all the time. You might be surprised by the title, but as the story progresses, the human side of Karen and Teito gradually becomes apparent, and there is also an aspect of human drama. However, there are also many comedic elements, so I think it will be enjoyable to watch, and I hope everyone will enjoy it from their own perspective!!
