The Legend of Hei:Popular Chinese anime web series to be dubbed into Japanese and broadcast on TV

It has been announced that the popular Chinese web anime series "The Legend of Hei" will be dubbed into Japanese and broadcast as a TV anime. The broadcast time has been announced as "2025 maybe!" It has also been revealed that the new movie version, "The Legend of Hei 2", will be set in a world two years after the previous film.

"The Legend of Hei" is produced by Chinese animator and animation director MTJJ and Hanmu Chunhua (HMCH) Studio. The web animation series was released on a video site in March 2011 and gained popularity, and the movie version was later released. The movie version was a hit, grossing about 315 million RMB (about 4.9 billion yen) in box office revenue in China.

A subtitled version was released in Japan in September 2019, and a Japanese dubbed version was released in November 2020. The dubbed version had a long run of screenings lasting about six months, and its box office revenue exceeded 520 million yen.
