An event for the TV anime " My Hero Academia, " based on the manga by Kohei Horikoshi serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), was held on March 22nd at "AnimeJapan 2025," one of the world's largest anime events, held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto-ku, Tokyo). Hiroshi Kamiya, who plays the young All For One from the seventh season, talked about the behind-the-scenes stories from the recording.
All For One has been played by Akio Otsuka until now, but since the character was rejuvenated in the 7th season, Kamiya has been the voice actor. Kamiya said that he felt pressured at first to play All For One, but "I realized that I had to think about how I could win (against All Might) and have fun. From then on, I just couldn't help but enjoy the dubbing." Kamiya also talked about an episode where before each recording, he would declare to Kenta Miyake , who plays All Might, "I'll definitely beat him!", to which Miyake replied, "I won't lose!"
Also appearing at the event were Daiki Yamashita , who plays Izuku Midoriya (Deku), Miyake, who plays Tomura Shigaraki, who plays Koki Uchiyama Tomura, and Akio Otsuka, who plays All For One.
At the event, it was also announced that the final chapter, the 8th season "FINAL SEASON", will be broadcast on Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV affiliates nationwide on 29 stations every Saturday at 5:30 pm starting in October. The second teaser visual featuring Tomura Shigaraki was also released.
"My Hero Academia" began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in July 2014, and the final episode aired in August, bringing the curtain down on its nearly 10-year run. Set in a world where about 80% of the population has supernatural powers and quirks, the series follows Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku, as he strives to become the greatest hero. The comics have sold over 100 million copies worldwide.
The first season of the TV anime was broadcast from April to June 2016, the second season from March to September 2017, the third season from April to September 2018, the fourth season from October 2019 to April 2020, the fifth season from March to September 2021, the sixth season from October 2022 to March 2023, and the seventh season from May to October.
The TV anime "Vigilante: My Hero Academia ILLEGALS", based on the official spin-off of "My Hero Academia ", will begin airing in April.
