It has been announced that the eighth and final season of the TV anime series " My Hero Academia ," based on the manga by Kohei Horikoshi that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), will be broadcast on 29 stations nationwide affiliated with Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV every Saturday at 5:30 pm starting in October. The second teaser visual featuring Tomura Shigaraki has also been released. The design is a counterpart to the visual of Izuku Midoriya(Deku) released in October 2024, and is accompanied by the copy "I'll destroy everything. Your story and everything."
The super teaser PV for "FINAL SEASON" was also released on YouTube. The video shows the journey of Deku and Shigaraki, and includes newly recorded lines for Deku, played by Daiki Yamashita, and Shigaraki, played by Koki Uchiyama.
It was also announced that in preparation for the broadcast of "FINAL SEASON," all episodes 1 to 7 of the TV anime will be streamed on TVer. They will be streamed sequentially from 3:30 pm on March 22nd. The official "My Hero Academia" LINE account, which was opened for a limited time in 2020, will be renewed and reopened.
"My Hero Academia" began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in July 2014, and the final episode aired in August, bringing the curtain down on its nearly 10-year run. Set in a world where about 80% of the population has supernatural powers and quirks, the series follows Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku, as he strives to become the greatest hero. The comics have sold over 100 million copies worldwide.
The first season of the TV anime was broadcast from April to June 2016, the second season from March to September 2017, the third season from April to September 2018, the fourth season from October 2019 to April 2020, the fifth season from March to September 2021, the sixth season from October 2022 to March 2023, and the seventh season from May to October.
The TV anime "Vigilante: My Hero Academia ILLEGALS", based on the official spin-off of "My Hero Academia ", will begin airing in April.
