The key visuals for "Clockwork Girl," the first instalment of the original anime series "Virgin Punk" by director Umetsu Yasuomi, known for "A KITE" and "MEZZO FORTE," have been released. They depict the girls Ubu and Mr. Elegance.
The cast of main characters has also been announced, with Miyashita Saki playing Shinkou Hamai, Konishi Katsuyuki playing Mr. Elegance, Katsuyuki Konishi playing Luis Gaudi, Tanabe Rui playing Maggie, Wakamoto Norio playing Tommy J, Izumi Fuka playing Noa Andriette, and Sumire Uesaka playing Vespa.
This is Umezu's first work in about 10 years, and he is teaming up with Shaft, the studio behind "Puella Magi Madoka Magica." The story revolves around the struggles of the protagonist Ubu, who has decided to live as a "bounty hunter," and the desires and chaos woven by the strong characters surrounding her. The first in the series, "Clockwork Girl," will be released on June 27 at Cine Libre Ikebukuro (Toshima-ku, Tokyo) and Theater Umeda (Kita-ku, Osaka).
