The drama "Joyu Meshi" starring model and actor Miona Hori has been announced to be streamed and broadcast on the video streaming service "FOD" and Fuji TV's pay channel "Fuji TV TWO" from 7pm on March 30th. Key visuals and stills have also been released.
The drama is a film adaptation of the manga of the same name, written by Yotsuba Fujikawa and illustrated by Nono Ueno, which is currently being serialized in "Weekly Young Jump" (Shueisha). It depicts the story of Izumi Nadeshiko (Hori), a national actress known as "the last Yamato Nadeshiko," as she secretly spends a blissful "meal" enjoying the city's gourmet cuisine. Highlights of the show include the numerous gourmet dishes that appear in each episode and Nadeshiko's various costume changes.
It was also announced that models SUMIRE and Ogata Sosuke, and Nagase Mari of the girl group Rain Tree will appear in the film. SUMIRE will play Shinohara Rinka, Nadeshiko's childhood friend and best friend, Ogata will play Ono Kenjiro, Nadeshiko's manager, and Nagase will play Watanabe Yuno, a new actress who is Nadeshiko's junior.
There are 8 episodes in total. Episodes 1 to 4 will be streamed and broadcast on FOD and Fuji TV TWO from 7pm on the 30th. Episodes 5 to 8 will be streamed and broadcast on FOD and Fuji TV TWO from 7pm on April 6th. FOD will stream the first episode for free.
