Model Reise Reiyo Matsumoto , who gained attention for her role in the special effects drama " Kamen Rider Gotchard " (2023-2024), has been revealed to be appearing in the TV Asahi special drama "Spring!", which will be broadcast on March 21. Matsumoto played a cool character in " Gotchard," but in this work she plays a high school girl who is energetic and devoted to love.
The drama is an adaptation of the winning work by Matsushita Saya, which was selected from a total of 1,023 entries in the TV Asahi Newcomer Scenario Awards, which has produced many scriptwriters. Starring Nogizaka46 member Nagi Inoue, the drama is a youthful love story that depicts the conflicts and loves of high school students with the theme of essays. Aoi (Inoue), an honor student who had always received A's in the first half of the entrance exams for her desired university, unexpectedly fails. She is invited by Tasuku (Fujioka Maito), a male classmate who also failed, to join her. As they prepare for the essay portion of the second half of the exams, the two grow closer to each other.
Matsumoto plays Hayase Rin, a second-year high school student. She is the manager of the basketball club and has a crush on the popular senior student, Yu. However, while preparing for her essay, she becomes jealous when she finds out that Yu and Aoi are getting closer. She tells Aoi a lie that Yu has told.
It was also announced that Shiba Daisuke from the comedy duo "Mogura Rider" will play Yu's father, Toshiki, and Suruga Taro will play Sayama, the basketball club advisor and Japanese teacher.
