Actor Shinya Kote will make his first appearance on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will air on March 11th at 1pm. He is currently 51 years old. He has become so popular that he was ranked 4th in the "Talent TV Drama Appearance Ranking" from 2019 to 2023, and is known by the nickname "Uncle Cinderella." However, he worked part-time jobs until he made his big break at the age of 45.
In the currently airing NHK Asadora drama "Omusubi," he plays the role of a much older classmate of the heroine, which has become a hot topic. He first became interested in acting in high school, and spent two years studying for entrance exams to join the Waseda University drama club. He discovered a surprising fact after joining the club.
The person he looks up to is his senior in the university drama club, Yashima Norito. Kote can't hide his excitement at the surprise message from Yashima. He also shares an episode where he was scolded by Miwa Akihiro, who co-starred with him on stage.
