Rakugo performer Shofutei Tsurube appeared on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi) broadcast on March 3rd. I came across a photo of my wife from her wedding. Everyone was saying she looked pretty, so I called her and told her, "Everyone's saying I look pretty in this wedding photo," and she said, "I'm really fat now," and hung up the phone.
At the wedding, his master, Matsukaku, came for about a minute and gave the opening greeting. Matsukaku's words, "I have 13 disciples. This guy is the 11th. He's the stupidest. See you later," made him recall, "It's rare for my master to act as a matchmaker and even attend the ceremony for a moment, so I was happy."
In the movie "35th Year Love Letter" in which he starred, the wife was played by Tomoyo Harada. She was good at Osaka dialect. "The child actor also spoke Kansai dialect really well, so when I asked her, 'Are you from Kansai?', she replied, 'I'm 5 years old,'" he said, drawing laughter.
