The 16th episode of the popular detective drama "Aibou Season 23" (TV Asahi, Wednesdays at 9pm) titled "Flowers Don't Choose Where to Bloom" will be broadcast on February 19th. Airi Matsui and Kasumi Yamatani will be guest starring.
Two months ago, Ukyo Sugishita (Yutaka Mizutani) was invited by Mari Koide (Yoko Moriguchi) to visit a rapeseed field, where he met a woman named Nozomi Abukawa (Matsui). She is the daughter of Toru Abukawa, a master of Japanese painting, and is a highly acclaimed arts college student herself. Mari had interacted with Toru and his wife during her time as a geisha, and was also acquainted with Nozomi. The rapeseed field was where Toru died suddenly of heart disease a year ago.
Two months later, a male art dealer is stabbed to death. Based on the circumstances at the scene, Nozomi emerges as a suspect. The police suspect that the art dealer was involved in Toru's death, and that Nozomi, upon learning of this, harbored murderous intent.
Ukyo and Kaoru Kameyama (Yasufumi Terawaki) begin their investigation and, in order to find the missing Nozomi, interview Hikari Kurata (Yamatani), an art student the same age as Nozomi and an artist who the victim had recently recommended. Hikari says, "We had no contact because of our different circumstances."
Meanwhile, a shocking truth is revealed about Toru's inheritance. Was the death of the Japanese painting master a disease or a murder? The Special Investigation Team closes in on the murderous intent hidden in the rape blossoms!
The script was written by Tonomine Keita and the director was Morishita Toshiyuki.
