At the 3rd Niigata International Animation Film Festival, a festival for full-length commercial animated films, the winners of the Fukiya Koji Award and the Okawa Hiroshi Award, which recognize the achievements of animation staff and studios, were announced. The Fukiya Koji Award went to director Kiyotaka Oshiyama , who worked on " Lookback ," Inoue Lookback , who was in charge of animation for " The Boy and the Heron? " and "Look Back," Kimura Eriko, sound director who participated in " The Colors Within" and "The Boy and the Heron?", and Hayashi Yuki, who is in charge of music for the "My Hero Academia" series and the "Haikyu!!" series. The Okawa Hiroshi Award went to Shin-Ei Animation, the animation production company behind "Totto-chan: The Little Girl Who Lives at the Window" and "Bakeneko Anzu-chan."
The festival aims to be one of the largest in Asia with a feature-length animated film competition, with the aim of spreading anime culture from Niigata to the world. The first festival was held in Niigata City from March 17 to 22, 2023, and the second from March 15 to 20, 2024.
The third event will be held from March 15th to 20th.
