It was announced on February 6th that the Nippon Television network's viewer participation program "Kasou Taishou" will be appearing at the "Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan" which opens on April 13th.
The Kasou Taishou is a show in which viewers compete with the best costumes they have created through trial and error, and was started in 1979 by Kinichi Hagimoto as host. In 2002, Hagimoto and Shingo Katori became co-hosts, and the 100th contest was broadcast on January 13th.
In the 46 years since the program began, 4,171 works have been broadcast so far. At this year's Expo, it has been decided that legendary costumes and the number one works of legends will be shown live on May 6th under the title "Kasou Taishou Grand Champion Tournament (tentative)."
The Grand Champion Tournament will be held at the Shine Hut EXPO Hall at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan Expo. A broadcast of the event is also planned for a later date.
