To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the anime "You're Under Arrest," based on the manga by Kosuke Fujishima, it has been announced that the theatrical version of "You're Under Arrest the Movie" will be screened again on March 7th at Shinjuku Piccadilly (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo), Midland Square Cinema (Nakamura-ku, Nagoya), and Namba Parks Cinema (Naniwa-ku, Osaka). A screening of the original video animation (OVA) will be held at Shinjuku Piccadilly on March 1st, and a talk show will be held with Tamagawa Sakiko, who plays Tsujimoto Natsumi, and Hiramatsu Akiko, who plays Kobayakawa Miyuki. 30th anniversary merchandise will be sold at the theaters showing the theatrical version.
The work is a manga that began serialization in "Morning Party Special Edition" (Kodansha) in 1986. The story is about the crazy adventures of the super duo Tsujimoto Natsumi and Kobayakawa Miyuki, who work at the traffic division of Sumida Police Station in downtown Tokyo.
An OVA was released in 1994-95, the first TV anime series was broadcast in 1996, a "Special" in 1999, the second series in 2001, and the third series in 2007. A movie version was released in 1999, marking the 25th anniversary of the series.
