A completely new manga, "Vampire Princess Miyui" (SB Creative), a part of the popular masterpiece "Vampire Princess Miyui" series that has been made into an OVA (original video animation), TV anime, and manga, began serialization on various digital book stores on January 31. Along with the new serialization, new editions of all works in the series were also distributed.
In the new work, the fates of Miyu and Yui, who have never met before despite living as the same vampire princess (vampire), will finally intersect. Narumi Kakinouchi, who has worked on the manga of the series, will be doing the illustrations, director Toshihiro Hirano, who has worked on the TV anime and OVA, will be in charge of the original story, and screenwriter Chiaki Konaka will be in charge of the composition.
The "Vampire Princess Miyu" series is a media mix work based on the OVA released in 1988-89. It depicts the battle between Miyu, a vampire princess who sucks human blood, and a stray god-demon who has infiltrated the human world. The manga version by Kakinouchi began serialization in 1988. In 1989, a spin-off called "Vampire Princess Yui" began serialization, depicting another heroine, Yui, who became a vampire princess thanks to Miyu. It was made into a TV anime in 1997 and concluded in 2021 with "Vampire Princess Miyu Saku."

I was first allowed to do character design and storyboarding for the OVA "Vampire Princess Miyu," then started serializing the manga in parallel... and now, with Miyu's younger sister Yui, a new "Vampire Princess Miyui" has begun! I'm so happy! I still draw the characters analogically with pen on paper, but the finishing touches are done digitally, so I'm still flustered, not used to the final manuscript being data that doesn't have the actual thing (lol). But I'm a little happy that I was able to achieve an effect that I couldn't express with tones. There were a lot of things that happened, but I'm really happy that I can finally show it to everyone. I hope you'll enjoy these two vampire princesses.

This is a completely new work in which Miyu and Yui will appear together. The story of "Yui" has concluded, and "Miyu" has also drawn to a close. It is still unclear whether the two will join forces to fight the demons, or whether they will become enemies. I wanted to incorporate a modern atmosphere, so I asked horror master Chiaki Konaka to write the script. I think it will develop in a different way from previous works. Please look forward to it.

For me, "Miyu" was only involved in the 1999 TV series, where I wrote the script for one episode, but from that time on I hit it off with Director Hirano, and I also wrote a small part of the scenario for the game version of "Vampire Princess Yui" and was in charge of the series composition for "Devilman Lady". It was after we talked about "Miyu" that I met Kakinouchi Narumi-sensei. Originally, "Miyu" was Director Hirano's original work, and "Yui" was Kakinouchi-sensei's original work, so I was hesitant to be entrusted with the construction of a project to integrate them as a culmination, but now I am looking forward to seeing the finished storyboard.
