On January 25th, it was revealed that the music unit ClariS, known for performing the opening theme to the anime series Puella Magi Madoka Magica, would be performing with a new lineup. On the same day, at the event LisAni! LIVE 2025 held at Nippon Budokan (Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo), it was announced that Ellie and Anna would join as new members, and that they would perform as a three-person unit including Clara. At the event, the three members, including the new members, suddenly appeared on stage and performed their popular song Connect.
Clara commented, "The third chapter of ClariS has finally begun! We have welcomed two new members who I think are wonderful, and the three of us will write a new chapter in ClariS' history. We have been able to reach this day thanks to all of our fans who always support us, and everyone who is involved. We will continue to put our feelings of gratitude into our songs, and move forward together with you all to a stage you've never seen before! Please love the new ClariS as well."
Ellie said, "I've become a new member of ClariS! My name is Ellie! I am truly honored to be able to make ClariS' history together with all of you. I am so happy and thrilled that we have been able to safely start the third chapter of ClariS! I would be delighted to create lots of wonderful scenes and memories together with everyone, Clara, and Anna. I'll do my best! Thank you for your support!"
Anna commented, "Nice to meet you! I'm Anna, the new member! I'm really happy and honored to be able to successfully start ClariS's third chapter and to be able to walk this path with you all from now on. Together with Clara-chan and Ellie-chan, I'll do my best to deliver a wonderful ClariS! I look forward to your support."
"ClariS" debuted in 2010 as a unit consisting of Clara and Alice. In 2014, Alice graduated and new member Karen was welcomed. Karen graduated in 2024. Since their debut, they have used illustrations as their main visual and often performed live wearing masks, but in 2020, celebrating the 10th anniversary of their major debut, they revealed their real faces in their first live stream, which became a hot topic.
