New commercials for JR East's "JRSKISKI" 2024-25 campaign, "White and Hot. Girls' Edition" and "White and Hot. Boys' Edition,"Natsuki Deguchi and Yuzu Aoki, have been released.
"JR SKISKI" is a ski travel campaign that JR East has been running since 1991. It has been dubbed the "gateway for young actors" as it has always used promising young actors, and to date has featured Honda Tsubasa, Kawaguchi Haruna, Suzu Hirose, and others. This is the first time in five years that a double cast has been used since the 2019-2020 season, when Hamabe Minami and Mizukami Koji (then Okada Kenshi) played the roles. The catchphrase for this season is "White and Heat."
The new commercial was shot entirely on smartphones at ski resorts in Japan in mid-December 2024. In order to give viewers a realistic sense of the winter world, the director did not provide many explanations or direction to each cast member, and instead the girls' and boys' groups freely expressed how people who had come there for the first time would look and how they would enjoy themselves. The highlight of the commercial is the natural expressions of Deguchi and Aoki, as if they were in a documentary.
