It has been announced that rookie manga artist Hatesaka Ao's manga "GALAXIAS" will be moving from the manga magazine "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha) to the web manga service "Magapoke" (Kodansha). The announcement was made in the 7th issue of "Weekly Shonen Magazine" released on January 15th. The 7th issue will be the end of the series in "Weekly Shonen Magazine", and the series will move to "Magapoke" on February 5th. After the transfer, the series will be serialized every other week.
The editorial department of the magazine explained the transfer as follows: "After much discussion with Kasaka-sensei, we have decided to prioritize the quality of the work and to serialize it every other week on the app. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our readers, and we appreciate your continued patronage."
Author Kasaka commented, "Thank you as always to everyone at Magazine. This is Kasaka. I'm so sorry for not being able to keep up with the pace of the weekly serialization and for taking so many breaks. Every time there was a break or a reduction in pages I felt so disappointed. "GALAXIAS" is the serialized debut work of Kasaka, who also worked as an illustrator under the name omao. The one-shot "GALAXIAS", which won the special selection of the manga award "Weekly Shonen Magazine Newcomer Manga Award" in 2022 with the highest score ever, was serialized and began serialization in the magazine in July 2024. Set in a kingdom inhabited by tail-grown, psychic dragon people, this battle fantasy follows the adventures of a human girl named Geo and a mysterious young man named Nereid who has lost his memory. The second volume of the comic will be released on February 17th.
