Actor Mai Fukagawa will appear in the BS12 TwellV program "Issey Ogata's Weekend Father and Daughter" (Tuesdays 7:45 p.m.) which will begin on January 14th. The drama-style travel program will feature the father and daughter played by Issey Ogata and Fukagawa, and the first episode will be set at the Tokiwa Park Sculptures in Asahikawa City.
The program's theme is "A weekend getaway for a father and daughter who reunite after a long gap and have lost touch with each other," and Ogata, who plays the father, and Fukagawa, who plays the daughter, will visit local art installations and scenic spots while acting out their roles in an unscripted, live performance.
Switching between fiction (= drama) and non-fiction (= travel program), the show will introduce each place it visits from a different perspective than a guidebook would, making it an experimental program with unpredictable endings.
The story takes place in Asahikawa, Biei, and Nakafurano in Hokkaido, and follows the journey of an awkward father-daughter reunion.
Comments from Ogata and Fukagawa were published on the official BS12 TwellV YouTube channel. There is also a scene where Ogata talks about his impressions of working with Fukagawa, saying, "She has a strong presence, but she also has a sense of transparency."
